WHY WORK HERE - THE OPPORTUNITY

The Achievement Schools are looking for team members who are committed to achieve our goal of providing an excellent education for every child in Frayser. The Achievement Schools will do this by doing More for Teachers and More for Students. The Achievement Schools foster school cultures that support teachers and students in order to improve student outcomes, sustaining high levels of student achievement over time. We know this goal is impossible without excellent teachers in every classroom.

We believe that through creating neighborhood feeder patterns of excellent schools that we can achieve our mission to empower students to know their full possibility, to understand the path to pursue it, and to have the academic and social skills to realize it.

At the Achievement Schools, we know that our Teachers are the #1 driver of student achievement. The innovation and leadership that they exhibit everyday directly creates an atmosphere of learning and excellence in which our students can thrive. Because you are our most valuable asset, we believe in continually investing in and cultivating our Teachers’ growth and development.

Every Achievement Schools Teacher is a leader! Whether a Teacher leads from within the classroom through developing instructional best practices or from outside of the classroom through serving as a grade-level chair or instructional coach, all of our Teachers possess the ability to influence the environment in which our students learn. In order to cultivate these skills, the Achievement Schools partners with a number of outstanding, national leadership development organizations in order to provide additional opportunities for growth at zero cost to our Teachers.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

HOW WE COMPARE

How does this compare to Teachers across the state? The Tennessean reported that during the 2013-2014 school year, it took Teachers in Nashville and Shelby County an average of 30 years to reach a top salary of about $70,000. We don’t want our Teachers to have to wait until the end of their careers to be fully compensated for their outstanding work. You are the key to our students’ success, and you should feel rewarded for that now!
