Academics

Whitney Achievement Elementary School prepares all scholars with a college foundation. DREAM Scholars participate in field lessons, college visits, and career explorations. Classrooms and common areas are named after colleges. Morning meetings and community circles are energized with college chants, and academic techniques providing glimpses of college, and expanding their horizons.

Arts
We partner with Children in Harmony to provide student with enrichment in musical, visual, and dramatic arts during the extended school day. This culminates with student performances 3 times a year.

STEM
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math: All Whitney students receive a strong STEM background through daily core instruction. Additionally, 3rd-5th grade students at Whitney attend science class daily and participate in a weekly science lab.
Blended learning
Blended Learning
Whitney has 2 computer labs and laptops in all classrooms. Our blended learning model allows targeted, adaptive interventions on the computer while teachers continue direct instruction interventions with students in small groups.
"I will strive to model the attributes of a scholar and will challenge my students to become well-disciplined scholars."
